VLX for Network Infrastructure is VirtualLogix’s Real-Time Virtualization™ software optimized for the demanding environments of communications equipment from core networks to access devices.

VLX virtualizes the Power Architecture based platform, making software more efficient. It enables multiple operating systems (OS) to run simultaneously on the same shared hardware, while maintaining hard real-time and high throughput requirements. VLX allows developers to easily introduce Linux while reusing existing real-time operating system (RTOS) and applications, without disrupting the behavior of their supported applications. Running multiple operating systems on shared hardware gives system designers the ability to consolidate formerly discrete systems and services onto a unified platform. This yields a reduced bill of materials, reduced development time, and less power consumption.
