VLX for Network Infrastructure Supporting Intel® Core™ Microarchitecture

Overview

VirtualLogix™ VLX for Network Infrastructure enables consolidation of control and management plane applications through easy migration from single core to multicore-based platforms. VLX allows commercial or proprietary real-time operating system (RTOS) and rich operating systems, such as Windows® and Linux™, to run simultaneously and securely on the Intel® Core™ Microarchitecture. No modification to the guest operating systems is required and there is no disruption to the application behavior.

The combination of VirtualLogix VLX software with Intel Virtualization Technology [VT-x, VT-d] hardware provides support for high throughput and time critical applications. The advanced flexibility and performance features of VLX allow developers to solve complex Network Infrastructure equipment challenges.

Key Benefits

  • Speeds migration from single core to multicore platforms
  • Combines Windows®, Linux™ and RTOS on shared hardware maximizing software re-use
  • Lowers bill of material (BOM) through hardware consolidation
  • Secures mission critical applications in protected partitions
  • Enables isolation of proprietary code from open source license (GPL) requirements
