VLX Enabled High Availability
VirtualLogix™ VLX enabled High Availability (vHA) provides fault recovery and system management services across virtual and physical domains in virtualized embedded systems. vHA addresses the service continuity needs of today’s virtualized, multicore processor-based systems integrating VLX Real-Time Virtualization™ software. vHA is an open architecture supporting Service Availability Forum (SAF) interfaces. Thanks to its modular design, vHA interoperates with existing standards-based HA middleware.
Systems which traditionally have not used HA due to complexity and hardware costs will obtain higher availability using virtualization and management technologies provided by VLX and vHA combined. High end systems with demanding 99.999+% availability requirements can take advantage of the advanced features of vHA to overcome the new challenges of designing these systems with new multicore processors.
vHA’s scalability enables developers to select from a range of capabilities from hardware and virtual machines management to the restart of applications from a known state. This allows the introduction of the appropriate level of availability based on system requirements.
