Glenda Dorchak
Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Glenda Dorchak is a thirty year technology industry veteran who joined VirtualLogix as Chief Executive Officer in January, 2009. Most recently, she was the Chairman and CEO of Intrinsyc Software, a publically traded Wireless software and engineering services business based in Vancouver Canada and specializing in telephony solutions.
Ms. Dorchak was an executive with Intel Corporation from 2001 to 2006 including Vice President and COO of Intel Communications Group; Vice President & General Manager of Intel’s Consumer Electronics Group and Vice President and General Manager Broadband Products Group. Prior to her tenure at Intel, she served as chairman and CEO of Value America, Inc., an online retailer that pioneered the sale of consumer products on the Internet.
In 1999, Ms. Dorchak was named one of the “Top 25 Executives of the New Millennium” by Computer Reseller News, for growing Value America to a position of acknowledged industry leadership in online merchandising in the technology sector.
The majority of Ms. Dorchak’s career was spent with IBM, both in IBM Canada and later with IBM Corporation based in Raleigh NC, where she held executive positions with the IBM Personal Systems Group including directorships with the Ambra Systems group and IBM PC Direct North America.
Bruce M. Jaffe
Chief Financial Officer
Bruce M. Jaffe is responsible for the finance, human resources, and operations functions of VirtualLogix. He joined the company in October 2009.
Prior to joining VirtualLogix, Mr. Jaffe served five years as Vice President and CFO at LogicVision, Inc., which provides a portfolio of software products for the automated development, integration, and deployment of embedded test technology related to semiconductor design. Before that he was Sr. Vice President and CFO for Bell Microproducts, and CFO and COO at Bell Industries. His board experience includes outside director positions with three publicly traded companies: Pemstar, Inc., Metron Technology, and Southwall Technologies.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Jaffe started his career at Price Waterhouse as a senior accountant. He earned a B.S. degree in Business at the University of Southern California.
Michel Gien
Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy
Michel Gien’s passion for technology, working with customer issues, and commitment to excellence are the foundation of VirtualLogix's culture. He has over 30 years experience in the research and software industry.
Prior to co-founding VirtualLogix as its first CEO in August 2002, Mr. Gien was Co-founder, General Manager, and Chief Technology Officer of Chorus Systems. He became the first Distinguished Engineer outside North America at Sun Microsystems when they acquired Chorus Systems in 1997.
Prior to founding Chorus Systems, Mr. Gien worked as a Director at INRIA (French public IT research center) and CNET (France Telecom's research labs) leading research projects on computer networks, UNIX, and distributed operating systems from 1971 to 1986. He founded, co-chaired then chaired the European UNIX Association (EUUG then EurOpen) from 1980 to 1990. Mr. Gien graduated from Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures de Paris, France in 1971.
Christian Jacquemot
Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer
Christian Jacquemot leads the technology vision for VirtualLogix. Before co-founding VirtualLogix he was a key member of the architect team in charge of the specification and development of Sun's carrier-grade high-availability system software for leading telecom manufacturers.
Mr. Jacquemot was a Chief Architect at Chorus Systems where he extended the Chorus communications-oriented micro-kernel technology with an object-oriented middleware addressing the needs of telecom manufacturers. He promoted this middleware as an Object Management Group (OMG) standard (minimum and real-time CORBA).
Prior to Chorus Systems, Mr. Jacquemot worked as a research engineer at France Telecom Research Labs on the development and application of synchronous languages. He graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1980 and from Ecole des Télécommunications Paris, France in 1985.
