Our business
VirtualLogix is the global leader in virtualization software for connected devices and networks. Products such as 3G wireless handsets, multimedia IP devices and switching equipment benefit from VirtualLogix virtualization technology.
The product that provides virtualization, VirtualLogix™ VLX, allows multiple operating systems and their respective application software stack to co-exist and interoperate on a single-core or a multi-core processor. VirtualLogix VLX is also able to provide an environment for the introduction of customizable trusted (security) areas of operation and device management outside of the domain of the operating systems.
Competitive advantages for VirtualLogix's customers
VirtualLogix VLX increases customer's competitiveness:
Increased functionality and cost reduction - Speeding the introduction of a rich OS such as Linux, while allowing legacy and new user applications to run directly on a single processor brings more functionality at reduced cost.
Lower risk of new product introduction - Providing additional functionality without the need to re-write or port existing applications to a new software architecture minimizes risks for new product developments.
Reduced time to market for new products - No porting effort and minimum re-validation of existing software allows early and rapid deployment of new products into the market.
ROI and protection of intellectual property - Enabling and leveraging the best of legacy RTOS, proprietary and open applications simultaneously maximizes return on investment and protects intellectual property.
Leading device suppliers are deploying VirtualLogix virtualization software
Feature phones supporting Linux applications, user interface and device drivers, together with prior native real-time OS, its wireless modem stack and its legacy applications on a single ARM9 based chipset: Philips Semiconductors has been announced as a VirtualLogix VLX licensee for some of their Nexperia products.
Multimedia IP devices running Linux and DSP/BIOS simultaneously on a single TI DM64x DSP: Amino and SIDSA have been announced as VirtualLogix VLX licensees for their low-cost, high volume IP set-top box products.
Network infrastructure equipment running multiple instances of existing real-time OS and network control software stacks, together with Linux, on single processor and multi processor ATCA boards: Alcatel has been announced as a VirtualLogix VLX licensee for their new MGC Softswitch product.
Forward view
As connected devices handle more and more critical tasks and data, security and reliability are increasingly becoming major concerns. VirtualLogix is working with customers to apply its virtualization technology to create trusted device platform management systems.
